Kraken Kratom is a legitimate vendor: it is on the American Kratom Association GMP Qualified Vendor list, discloses its testing panel, and ships every order free. It scores 7.8/10 on KratomRated as of September 25, 2026. It loses points because COAs are only available on request and refunds apply only to unopened products.
This review is based on Kraken's published pages. We did not buy or test products.
Verdict
Kraken is a strong pick for small, cheap orders: powders start at $7.99, capsules at $13.95, and there is no minimum for free shipping. The trade-offs are lab transparency and returns. Vendors such as Kats Botanicals and Golden Monk publish batch COAs you can open before buying, and both accept opened products back.
Is Kraken Kratom legit?
- AKA GMP listing: Kraken Kratom is on the AKA vendor list in September 2026, and its listing there describes it as the first company acknowledged as an AKA GMP Qualified Vendor.
- Age requirement: Product pages state the products are not for persons under 21.
- 7-OH stance: In a July 2025 article on its site, Kraken said: "We have never sold 7OH products." We found no 7-OH products on the site in September 2026. One chewable tablet is labeled "NO 7OH" and lists 100mg mitragynine per tablet.
- Affiliate program: Kraken runs an affiliate program, which we disclose on our About page.
Is Kraken Kratom safe? Lab testing
Kraken's lab testing page describes a fairly complete panel:
- Heavy metals: arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury (AOAC 2013.06 method)
- Microbial: aerobic plate count, yeast and mold, coliforms, E. coli and Salmonella
- Identification testing
- Two or more labs, with a second lab as a failsafe; "only products which pass these tests will be available to order"
The page does not mention alkaloid testing or name the labs, and Kraken does not publish batch COAs. You have to fill in a COA request form. That's why Kraken scores 6/10 on lab transparency. If you order, request the COA for your batch and check it with our lab report guide.
Contamination testing doesn't address the risks the FDA warns about, such as liver toxicity, seizures and substance use disorder.

- Free shipping: all orders by USPS First Class; free USPS Priority Mail over $200 (source).
- Speed: same-day shipping for orders before 2 PM PST, Monday to Saturday.
- Refunds: within 30 days of receipt, only for unopened, heat-sealed products. "This seal cannot be broken in order for a product to qualify for refund." (source)
- Return shipping: paid by the customer; Kraken pays for exchange shipping.

Who it suits
Buyers placing small orders who value free shipping and low prices, and who are willing to request a COA before using a product. Buyers who want to see lab results up front or want a lenient return policy should look at our top-ranked vendors.
What we could not verify
- Test results for any specific batch. COAs are only available through a request form, so we reviewed none.
- Alkaloid testing. The lab testing page lists heavy metals, microbes and identity, but not alkaloid content.
- Capsule counts at the entry prices. The capsule category page shows starting prices without counts.
Before you order from Kraken Kratom
- Check the shipping restrictions page and our state guide.
- Request the COA for your batch before opening the product. Once the heat seal is broken, the product no longer qualifies for a refund.
- Choose plain leaf powder or capsules if you want products comparable to others on our vendor list.
