The best kratom vendors in 2026 are Kats Botanicals (8.8/10), Golden Monk (8.4/10) and Happy Hippo (8.1/10), based on published lab reports, American Kratom Association GMP status, prices and return policies checked on September 25, 2026. All eight vendors below sell plain leaf kratom and none had 7-OH products on their sites.

Golden Monk posts a COA PDF for every product and size and sells powder from $23.99 for 250g, with 1kg bags up to $52.99, the lowest kilo pricing we track. It refunds opened bags within 30 days if at least 85% remains, and ships free at $99. Its catalog is limited to powders, capsules and gummies.

3. Happy Hippo: best for first orders (8.1)

Happy Hippo sells 1 oz powders from $9.99 and 100-count capsules from $19.98, and its refund policy gives 60 days, with replacements for opened products. It's AKA-listed and states a 21+ rule. We could not load the contents of its COA page, which keeps its lab score at 6/10.

MIT45 sells liquid extracts, capsules and gummies rather than powder. Its product COAs are among the most complete we saw; a Gold Cap report lists alkaloids including 7-OH, four heavy metals and a microbial panel. Super Speciosa's lab lookup names two ISO 17025 labs and discloses a panel of up to five alkaloids, heavy metals and microbes. It has nearly every format. It ranks sixth because it was not on the AKA's GMP list when we checked, though it announced qualification in 2019.

Vendors we left out

• Any vendor selling 7-OH. The DEA moved in July 2026 to temporarily place 7-OH above a set threshold in Schedule I. See what 7-OH is and why we don't list it.
• O.P.M.S. It is on the AKA GMP list, but a review on Kratom.org reports that it does not sell directly through its own website, and we could not read product or policy details on its site.

What changed in 2026

The vendor landscape shifted this year, which affected how we ranked:

• New state bans. Connecticut (March 25), Kansas (July 1) and Tennessee (July 1) banned kratom in 2026, and North Dakota moved from an emergency ban to 21+ regulation in September. Vendors' no-ship lists don't always keep up. See kratom legal status by state.
• Federal 7-OH action. The DEA's July 2026 temporary scheduling notice made "no 7-OH" a hard requirement for our list.
• AKA list changes. Super Speciosa, which announced AKA GMP qualification in 2019, did not appear on the AKA's list in September 2026. That single change moved it from what would be first place (about 9.0) to sixth.

Ties and close calls

Several scores are close. Kraken (7.8), Super Speciosa (7.7) and MIT45 (7.9) are separated by 0.2 points. The differences come from specific policies: MIT45's full-panel COAs, Kraken's COAs-on-request, and Super Speciosa's missing AKA listing. If one factor matters most to you, use the specs table above rather than the overall rank.

What we check for every vendor

1. AKA GMP listing. The AKA program requires an annual independent audit. The AKA says the listing does not endorse product quality, so we treat it as a baseline.
2. Public, batch-level COAs. The NIH's NCCIH notes that contamination with heavy metals and bacteria has been found in some kratom products. A COA is how you check. Learn how to read a kratom lab report.
3. No 7-OH or synthetic alkaloids on the site.
4. Age rule. Most vendors and many state laws require buyers to be 21+.
5. Returns and shipping. Whether opened products qualify, and who pays return shipping.
